Another Day, More Fun

We ended yesterday (Saturday) with a cookout and crabbing. Our first crabbing adventure of the year turned out to be more work than it was worth. First, we brought two large pieces of chicken with us. The first piece was lost at the bottom of the ocean within minutes. Then the next attempt and the crabbing next got stuck on something at the bottom and came off the line. We lost the net at the bottom!!!! So, we all walked to the general store to get a new net. After we got back to the pier we found our first piece of chicken floating in the water. Our first catch was a piece of chicken!!!!! We stayed out there for about 20 minutes and only caught one blue crab and one hermit crab. It was the blue crabs lucky day....he got sent back into the ocean for next time. We finished off the evening with ice cream at the tower.

Sunday started off nice and sunny. Sanida and I enjoyed an early morning walk/run on the beach. After we returned we loaded up the whole family and we spent the entire day at the beach. Andrew was a trooper. He had his little tent and an umbrella and slept all day! I hope he continues to be such a great baby. Matthew, Adam and Erol built a great castle with the help of Mike and there was plenty of wave surfing. After they got tired of that they started hunting for wild life. We now have three sand dollars that are living with the hermit crab on the deck. Mike and Ellen are getting in a round of golf late this afternoon and the rest of us are preparing for another great cookout. More to come tomorrow!
